Maximize Your Rebate: Apply Now for Pennsylvania's Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program The Pennsylvania Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program is now accepting applications from eligible homeowners and renters for rebates on 2024 property taxes. Qualified applicants include those 65 and older, widows/widowers 50 and older, and permanently disabled individuals 18 and older, with a household income of $46,520 or less (excluding half of Social Security benefits). The application deadline is June 30, 2025, though it is often extended. Applications can be submitted online at https://www.pa.gov/agencies/revenue/incentives-credits-and-programs/ptrr.html or obtained at local offices, including those of Treasurer Bernie Harry, Representative Parke Wentling, and Senator Michele Brooks.

Water Main Replacement on Clarksville Rd & Hofius Ln Aqua PA began replacing water mains on Clarksville Road (from Donna Drive to Hofius Lane) and most of Hofius Lane on March 13, 2025. Wilson Excavating is the contractor for the project, which is expected to take approximately three months. Traffic Impact: One lane will remain open most of the time, but delays are expected. Please use alternative routes if possible. Local traffic, emergency vehicles, school transportation, and waste disposal vehicles will have access. Spring Events at the Hermitage Historical Society The Hermitage Historical Society invites the community to its monthly guest speaker series at the Stewart House, featuring topics ranging from local government to gardening and history. Spring speakers include Ann Coleman (March 18), Tom Kavanaugh (April 15), and Connie White (May 13). The annual flea market will be held on May 3, with vendor setup available for $10. Wild Ideas: A Kidpreneur Adventure - Entrepreneurial Workshop for 3rd-5th Graders A grant from Remake Learning Days is supporting an entrepreneurial event in collaboration with the eAcademy Program and the release of Ranger Rowan’s Guide to Yellowstone National Park. Held on Friday, May 9, from 4-6 PM in the eAcademy Classroom, the event invites 3rd-5th graders to explore entrepreneurship through creativity and storytelling with local author Katie Parr. UPMC Horizon - Farrell Campus Showcases New $10 Million Linear Accelerator at Hillman Cancer Care Center Open House On February 28th, UPMC Horizon - Farrell Campus held an Open House at their Hillman Cancer Care Center to showcase their new Linear Accelerator used for radiation treatments. David Patton, UPMC Horizon/Jameson President and Dr. Uzoma Iheagwara, Medical Director, Radiation Oncology spoke while UPMC staff demonstrated the equipment. The Linear Accelerator can rotate 360 degrees and precisely pinpoint radiation treatments while providing staff state-of-the-art imaging. Overall, the project represents a $10 million investment by UPMC in patient care.

The PRC Traveling Glass Recycling Bin will be in Hermitage from April 26th - May 1st, 2025 and September 27th - October 2nd, 2025, available daily from 7 a.m. to sundown. Tire Recycling Program – Important Update! The City of Hermitage offers year-round tire recycling for current Hermitage residential curbside customers at the City Garage (5250 Virginia Road). Monday – Friday | 8 AM – 3 PM Free for residents (Proof of residency required) -Limit on the number of tires per visit -No tires with rims or dirt in casings New Procedure Starting February 1, 2025 Before dropping off tires, residents must contact Aiken Refuse at (724) 758-9400 x5 to receive a confirmation code for drop-off.
