[ARCHIVED] Maintenance Technician Position Available

Maintenance Technician in the Hermitage Street Department. This employee operates a variety of equipment to transport material, performs maintenance on city streets, properties and facilities; assists in asphalt patching of streets; assists in maintenance of storm water conveyance systems; maintenance of traffic control signs and pavement markings; operates truck to plow snow and apply anti-skid to roads; operates equipment to remove snow and ice from walkways; maintains recreational facilities, lawns and landscaped areas and performs traffic control at work sites. 

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, some experience operating trucks, landscape equipment and hand tools. The successful candidate must have a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator’s license – CDL, Class B with air brakes. 

Starting wage is $19.65/hr. increasing to $21.29/hr. after one year with an excellent benefit package including healthcare, prescription, vision, dental, paid leave and a retirement plan. Residency Requirements

Employees shall be a resident of the City of Hermitage, or one of the following Pennsylvania municipalities: City of Sharon, City of Farrell, Sharpsville Borough, Wheatland Borough, West Middlesex Borough, Clark Borough, Shenango Township, Lackawannock Township, East Lackawannock Township, Wilmington Township, Jefferson Township, Pymatuning Township, South Pymatuning Township, Delaware Township, West Salem Township, Hempfield Township or Pulaski Township. An employee is a “resident” of the municipality in which he or she maintains his or her permanent place of residence.

New employees who are not a resident of the City of Hermitage, or an eligible municipality above, shall have twelve (12) months from the date of hire to become a resident of Hermitage or an eligible municipality.
