The PRP is required for the City’s renewal of the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit. Municipalities within the state of Pennsylvania are required by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PaDEP) to comply with all the requirements of the latest MS4 permit, which will renew in March of 2018.
As part of the new regulations, the PaDEP requires the City to reduce pollutant loads in streams designated as “impaired”. Bobby Run and its tributaries are considered by the PaDEP to be impaired due to nutrient loading. As such, the City is required to produce a PRP for Bobby Run. The PRP must be published for a minimum of 30 days during which WPG will be accepting public comments.
Written comments will be received by WallacePancher Group c/o Emily Muzzarelli, P.E. at 1085 South Hermitage Road, Hermitage, PA 16148 or by email at emuzzarelli@wallacepancher.com. The PRP can be viewed at the City of Hermitage Municipal Building between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, until August 30, 2017, or on the City’s website at www.hermitage.net.
