2022 Capital Projects

2022 Major Capital Infrastructure Improvement Projects 



Baker Run Stabilization Project:  Project location is between State Street and Westerman.   Project is to remove debris from the banks and stabilize the stream. Project is currently in design and is expected to be constructed in December of 2022.

Baker Run @ Buhl Farm Drive Pipe Replacement Project:  Project is to replace deteriorated storm pipe with new storm pipe.  Pipe has been replaced by J&T Paving, and all restoration has been completed.

Bobby Run MS4 Streambank Stabilization Project:  This is a MS4 required project to mitigate a section of an impaired stream.  Project is to stabilize a 1,200’ section of Bobby Run near Longview Road.  Project has been awarded to Meadville Land Service, Inc. Project has started in late August and is expected to be completed by December 2022.

Capital Paving Program

The project is to mill off old pavement and repave Easton Road (State Street to Pleasant Drive), Alma Ave., Revere Drive and Ridgelawn Drive. Project has been awarded to G.O. Hawbaker, Inc. All paving has been completed Signs will also be updated on all these roads.

 

CDBG Stormwater Project:  Project is to install stormwater pipe and catch basins on Meadowbrook (State Street to Trace), Concord and Trace (Meadowbrook to Concord) in November of 2022.   Greenawalt Excavating has been awarded the project. 

    

Golden Run Pipe Replacement Project: Project is to replace deteriorated pipe at Golden Run Lane. Project has been awarded to International Excavating of Ohio, Canfield, Ohio. Project has been completed.

 

Tenth Street Road Improvements:  Through an agreement, the City of Hermitage and the City of Sharon will be paving Tenth Street (George Street to Charles Street).   Project has been completed.

 

PA DOT Highland Road Project:  The PA DOT Department of Transportation has contracted Lindy Paving to mill and pave Highland Road from N. Hermitage Road to Forker Ave.  Work has started the week of July 11th and is expected to be completed in October.  Paving and pavement markings have been completed.
