Natural holiday trees will be picked up at the curb as part of the normal trash/recycling collection for two (2) weeks :
Monday, January 9th - Friday, January 13th &
Monday, January 16th - Friday, January 20th, 2012.

 

DEC 24th - Sharon-Herald - Lake taking used evergreens - Do not throw your natural Christmas trees away after the holidays are over! Take them out to Shenango Lake and let them serve as fish habitat. To increase habitat nesting and protective structure for fish, the U.S. Amry Corps of Engineers at Shenango Lake is asking local communities in the area to support this project. Only natural trees will be used, and trees with decorations and garland still attached will not be accepted. Trees can be dropped off beginning Jan. 1 at the Shenango Recreaton Area boat launch parking lot, 492 West Lake Road, Transfer (adjacent to the Shenango Campground). A section of the parking lot will be designated for drop-offs.

2012 CITY OF HERMITAGE SPRING CLEANUP - BULK TRASH COLLECTION DAYS

Friday, May 11, 2012
For residents whose regular trash collection days fall on Tuesday & Wednesday

Saturday, May 12, 2012
For residents whose regular trash collection days fall on Monday & Thursday

All white goods, bulk items and larger items will be taken on these collection days. These include, but are not limited to lawn chairs, lamps, TV’s, bicycles, carpet rolls (no more than 4 ft. in length), large and small appliances, furniture, tables, washers, dryers, stoves, etc.

Air conditioners, dehumidifiers, refrigerators & freezers must have their doors disabled and Freon removed and be properly tagged by a certified technician.

All items must be placed out at the curb the night before pickup. Items for bulk trash collection days do not require a tag for disposal. No bagged leaves will be accepted on the bulk trash days.
 


CITY OF HERMITAGE - 2012 YARD WASTE COLLECTION SCHEDULE

Yard waste will NOT be collected from December 2011 through March 2012.  Yard waste collection will resume again in the 1st week of April 2012.

(Green-lid) yard waste carts or biodegradable bags may be placed at the curb on a weekly basis on your regular collection day, April though November. There is no limit to the amount of bio-degradable bags a household can place at the curb.

• Grass clippings
• Plants and flowers
• Roots
• Sawdust
• Shrubbery and pruning
• Branches, tree limbs under 4” in diameter
• Brush up to 4’ in length.
