Attention Hermitage Residents:

The City of Hermitage has been informed that as of Monday, April 23rd, 2007, the blue recycling bins located at the Shenango Valley Mall will be closing. The recycling bins had been operated by the Mercer County Solid Waste Authority and, due to recent cuts in funding and other related issues; the Solid Waste Authority has decided to close the recycling drop-off site located in Hermitage.

Hermitage residents can still utilize their curbside recycling containers to recycle the following items: aluminum cans, tin cans, #1 & #2 plastics, glass bottles and newspapers. Also, there will be six recycling drop-off sites that will remain open throughout the County.  There are located in Wilmington Township, Findley Township, Perry Township, Pymatuning Township, Greenville Wal-Mart and the Tri-County Facility in Grove City.

Should you have any questions, please contact the City of Hermitage at (724) 981-0800 or the Mercer County Regional Planning Commission at (724) 981-2412.
